Treasury-share the love

On Friday night I sat in front of the t.v. with my husband exhausted from the long day of subbing. As we ate pizza and watched our favorite shows we caught up on the week together. We discussed how nice it was to be together for our third anniversary (he was in Iraq for the 1st two) and how much work he had done for his school classes. My husband tends to do most of his homework during the night time because well as he says "he can think" at that time. So by 5:30 p.m. he was sound asleep on the couch. I wasn't so surprised after he had been up for almost 48 hours--I have no idea how he does this I can't function after 14 hours!!
So onto the computer I went with my crocheting to do as my next step. As I made the round of emails, facebook, twitter, Ebay and then onto etsy to make sure everything was ok. After about 1/2 hour of doing all of this I wanted to see what all the etsy people have been up too. So off to the Treasury I went. I love the treasury because there are so many talented people out there. I wish I had more time in my world to craft but as it goes I don't. Just like the rest of the world I guess. Anyway when I got to the treasury it said 333... You know what that means :) Yup!! I sat and waited...and waited... and waited some more. before I knew it there was over 1,000 people on the treasury. I had never seen so many people on here before. As I waited I thought of a title I used and then it happened!! It dropped to 332..I waited a few more moments and it dropped to 331 and I was in!! There it was bright as day...TITLE__________ will be listed for 2 days. I couldn't believe it. I haven't had one in a few months because well A-I've been so busy and B- because its ALWAYS filled. So I quickly typed in my title and I was off to see who from the EtsyTwitter team I should add in. Above is a snap shop of the treasury but please please check it out for yourself before it gone on Monday 6 AM EST. Leave a comment if you want but let me know what you think!!

Etsy Twitter Team Shop of the Week is: TINKER AND PO

I am in LOVE with the Fingerless Gloves that Tinker and Po creates. Lisa creates her fingerless gloves from felted and repurposed merino wool, angora, cashmere or lamb’s wool sweaters. The sweaters that she uses are recyclable. Since July 2008 Lisa has opened her world of gloves to Etsy and talks about her gloves on Twitter.

On her main page you will see the following shop announcements:
"When you shop at TinkerAndPo:~~10% of all sales are donated to autism research in our son, Declan's, name ~~You're supporting the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle philosophy ~~You're
supporting small business - not just TinkerAndPo, but our suppliers, too! ~~You're supporting the Buy Handmade movement "

I highly recomend this shop to all buyers! Here are a few people in my life I would buy a fingerles glove for:
1- My grandmother
2- My great Aunt
3-any one I knew who had arthritis to help keep their wrists and fingers warm during those hard days
4- MY SELF-to help keep my fingers warm when I crochet or type
5- A great present for a Teacher-yes our fingers get cold when we are correcting papers, creating things for the classroom or even when we are researching at the computer
6-The kids bus driver!!--how cool would it be to see a happy bus driver in the morning because you helped them keep their fingers warm!!

But no matter who you purchase your gloves for remember you are helping a family out who helps others!!
Best wishes to
Tinker and Po and her family.

P.S.-check out her nails in the pictures she always has them done so nicely to match her gloves!!

Last week

EEk!! I am so bad about these blogs right now--last week was soooooooo crazy--2 snow days off from school, not feeling well, burned my arm making carrot cake and then my finger making eggs. Did finally finish Marley and Me which I had started about 2 months ago. Decided to go back to working on a the 99 square baby blanket. I have about 52 more squares to go--not bad! Anyway life seems to be so busy when you don't have the time. I apologies to the last week shop of the week--so today I'll give you both of the shops that have the floor from Etsy's twitter team. Also check out the rest of this blog I updated it with stuff from etsy and twitter.

Week of January 26th-- Shop of the week
PawandClawDesigns.etsy.com

This shop is very very unique it has jewelry from earrings to fun, geeky necklaces for “one-of-a-kind people with one-of-a-kind taste”. Her items can be shopped to anywhere in the world and has had her shop on etsy since October 2006. This shop has a very unique taste and would be perfect for that hard to find person's gift. (you know who I'm talking about we all have at least one in our lives;) P jewelry from traditional earrings to fun, geeky necklaces for “one-of-a-kind people with one-of-a-kind taste”. You can truly see that PawandClawDesigns.etsy.com poors her heart into every item she makes. Don't forget to check out this item--its my favorite in the shop! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17359763
